"Star Trek" gets points for me because the original series, "The Next Generation" and some of the movies were very well done and asked thought-provoking questions. It gets points off because even though the special effects became better with time, the stories, plots and characters became ever duller and cliched, and less interesting.
"Star Wars" gets points from me for being the ultimate slam-bang science fantasy entertainment package. It gets points off for "The Phantom Menace" and much of "Attack of the Clones."
Now you tell me . . .

I'll say this first: I'm an all-out Star Wars fan.
I did enjoy the Star Trek NG and Voyager, though. I didn't watch them religiously, but enjoyed it from time-to-time. I like it's basis story of a human (mostly) patrol out to scout the universe and the adventures they have along the way. For television, it's a great watch.
Star Wars. Yes, it's definitely the whole package! It has action, romance (leaving the bro-sis action out of it LOL), awesome special effects, intriguing storyline, and not to mention it's still going quite strong with the new EU books and having some renewed interest with the 30th anniversary this year. Talks of a live-action tv show are also in the works--Star Trek, watch out LOL Another fact: lightsabers. Okay, okay while phasers are becoming actual items in our world, lightsabers are just very useful, ingenious weapons. (and maybe someday...)

I will have to tell you I love both of the shows, I can't pick, when I was a little girl I would watch Star Trek when it would come each week, and I loved it and now TV land shows the Star Trek in the morning, and I get up for that ,and I remember seeing Star Wars at the movies when I was a kid,and now my son just loves all of the . A very good question =]
