I'm a beautician. Warm, not hot water for washing. Rinse with cool water long enough to remove cleaner/soap. Cool rinse helps close pores.

You open your pores to cleanse with warm or hot and you close them with cold. Rinse as much as it takes to get your cleanser off. Follow with a toner and moisturizer to seal.

i wash my face once with a mild liquid soap with water that is body temp. then i rinse it with the same temp water and blot it dry with a plain white paper towel. then i apply a sun block (NOT sun screen) while my face is still damp. this makes your face drink in the moisture and protects it from the wrinkles caused by the sun.
