He said, that if a-rod or anyone else breaks his record, he will be there for sure, its like hes calling hank out!

No he's not. All it means is that if A-Rod breaks Barry's record (once he sets it) Barry will still be young enough to travel all over the place to see all the games. Aaron is OLD. OOOOOOLLLLD, and he would barely care if the sky started falling.

Who cares if Hank Aaron, Bud Selig or Babe Ruth do not attend the game that Barry breaks the record in. Why would he follow Bonds around waiting for him to hit # 756? I think Aaron has better things to do, and worry about, than watching Barry get a HR. What if it takes a month between #755 & 756? The way Bonds has been getting pitched to the last 4 or 5 years, he might get 30 walks in between 755 & 756. Because opposing teams pitch him like this, and the fact that the Giants lineup offers him no protection, it will be very hard to predict where and when Bonds will break the record. At 74 years old, Hank Aaron does not have to do anything. He will see the record breaker on ESPN just like everyone else. It doesn't mean that he doesn't care, it just makes more sense that a 70 year old guy doesn't follow the Giants around until the HR is hit.

Hank can do whatever he wants. Who cares what Bonds thinks, he used something illegal (if he knew it or not he cheated), he is an arrogant person. A-Rod will not break it, it is so rare (actually never happened b4 Bonds--I question how he did it) for someone to do well or even average post 40. That gives A-Rod 9 yrs, and must stay healthy to do so.

All that matters is that Babe Ruth hit the most HR per ABs, if he had not started career as a pitcher would have had ridiculous numbers!

I believe Bonds would love to see Aaron there to validate his achievement, his life style, and turn over the torch, but I don't think it will happen. There is a better chance that Bud Selig will show but I believe MLB is really going to tone down the event. Nik, I have something to say to you, I watched Aaron play throughout his career and he was then and is now a "CLASS" act. Very few people that have ever come in contact with Bonds would say that about him. How can you criticize him for not wanting to get involved with all the issues surrounding Bonds? I give very few "down thumbs" to anyone on this site because I respect their opinions, but you are so far off base that you just got one from me.

I think, whatever Bonds says to interviewers, that he IS pissed that Hank won't be there for the historical event. He feels he wants to show he's a better and more responsible person than the Hammer and congratulate the new home run king (A-Rod or whoever). I feel that Hank's reasons are legimate and I think Bonds understands the thinking beyond it but it still hurts. It is still a slight, no matter how perceived.

Not in a million years..... I don't know where people are getting the childish ideas of "calling someone out" regarding any HR or record breaking event.....

If Barry attends Ken Griffey's or A-Rod's record breaking event, it's just to signify and celebrate the new record holder.

That childish and immature thinking messes everything up and litters Yahoo Answers with nonsense.

who really cares what Bonds thinks?

I don't know that if I cheated to get another 75 home runs or so, would I want to look the man in the eye when I take his record (at least the #, not the significance) away?

If Arod breaks the record after Bonds, do you think Alex will care if Barry is there. I doubt it.

I wish people would just stop worrying about what bonds feels, does, thinks, etc

I think Bonds was calling Aaron out. But truthfully who cares. Bonds is so stuck on himself that he wants all of the attention. He is just doing this so if Aaron shows up that he can rub it in his face. Bonds should feel lucky that he is breaking someones record that has as much class as Aaron. If I was Aaron I would be calling Bonds the cheater that he is and calling him out to finally tell the truth.

And if anyone is known for being an honest, upstanding representative for MLB, it's Barry Bonds! He's not even there for his own teammates, why A-Rod? I'll believe it when I see it. Hank doesn't owe him anything.

Damn, there is some Bonds haters in here. I am so tired of the whole bonds thing. Hank Aaron will always be the homerun leader in my heart. Just an increbidle BLACK player.
