because they can, change your password, and dont tell em it and dont access it from your home comp if they have a key recording (records keystrokes) program installed.

You should be grateful that you have parents who look out for your best interests. More parents should play a larger role in their kids lives. MySpace is a haven for pedophiles, perverts and sickos (oh my!)
I do have a MySpace page BTW. It is a good way for me to keep in touch with old friends. I'm in my thirties so I doubt any pedos would have much interest in me. I also make it a point not to add friends indiscriminately. I usually only add people I personally know (in the non-internet world) or bands that I like. If you behave yourself and dont get into any compromising situations, what is the harm in mum and dad reading your myspace stuff. You shouldn't have anything to hide. They love you and want to protect you from this evil, evil world.

I have a friend that was cutting herself, and doing alot of other things that she talked about with her friends through myspace. Her mom found out from lokking through her myspace mail. That is a great example of why, because she was doing horrible things that could ruin her life and no one would have stopped her if they did not find out. Also there are petifials on myspace, it has been on the news and everything. They love you and worry for you, since you obviously are not mature enough to do that if you are asking this question.

Too many freaks out there. Probably just keeping you safe the best way they know how.
I know with my kids, they would never have or write anything on their MySpace which my wife or I could not see at anytime. We want them to be wise and safe. I am sure your parents want the same for you.

I love how kids feel that if their parents read their mail it is an invasion of privacy. If you aren't hiding anything, then what is the problem? Until you are 18, you have no privacy, and your parents have every right to read your mail. If you are so worried about them reading your mail than You obviously can't be trusted.

it is a parents job to monitor what their children are doing! there is so much crap on myspace that it is smart to watch what kids are doing on myspace!
you are lucky, i would never allow my children to use myspace in the first place.

I just don't get onto myspace when they're around, if my dad is right there he wants me to show him everything on my myspace!

Sometimes parents don't know how to go about asking their children things that they want to know about things going on in their lives.I will be 21 years old tommarow and my mom still looks at my page instead of talking to me women to women...

Because they are KIDS and the internet has TOO Much ADULT info, especially My Space..... They are your parents. That is THEIR RIGHT!!!! Untill you turn 18, get used to it!
