Someone on here just asked if you picked your ring out or did he, but it made me sad because I didnt get a ring, is that a bad thing, we dont have a lot of money but we have enough to where I could have gotten a ring. How many people got a ring, and how many didnt?

Don't feel bad. You got the guy didn't you? A ring means nothing, but your love means everything, right? If you really want a ring, tell him. It doesn't have to be expensive. I think smaller diamonds are pretty. Go to a jewelry store and put one on layaway. A pawn shop is a good place to get an inexpensive, but pretty ring,too. My ring cost about $200, it was a simple 1/4k marquise diamond ring. It's beautiful. For our 10th anniversary, my husband bout me a an anniversary ring, 10 small diamonds that equal toabout 1k. It's beautiful too. I rarely take either one of them off. But I got the guy I have been in love with since high school and would have settled with just a simple band or nothing at all.

I got one. But we were BROKE when we got engaged and my engagement ring and both wedding rings cost $200.00. My hand didnt turn green, so they were real...lol! It took 10 years, but I finally got a new beautiful wedding set, with a much larger and alot more diamonds.
Honey, if he didnt get you a ring, cuz money is an issue, dont sweat it. My husband had to beg me to let him get me a ring. We were broke with a baby on the way and I didnt think it was necesary, as long as i had a wedding band, I didnt care about the diamond.
Just wait. Eventually when the time is right and there is more money to go around, he'll get you one. Be patient and understanding. Maybe he thinks that he'd rather the first one be the big one and he knows you cant afford that right now, so he's waiting.

Don't be sad about that...a ring/sming. Means nothing.
I've seen people get 20k rings just to be divorced in a year. spend 20k on weddings and still paying on it after the divorce.
Work on the marriage, plan on that. People put so much energy in the commercialization of marriage that there is no wonder 50% end in divorce.
I did get a ring and my H did too...but it was barely 700 bucks for all 3 pieces (his one and my two).
I would have been satisfied with not getting one at all, if we were in your situation.

No body used to get a ring before the diamond monoply started marketing them inorder to sell more diamonds. The problem is the mark up on the ring is huge. The rings cost more than the stones in many cases. And in the past, the blood cost of diamonds was huge.

An engagement ring or a wedding ring?
I wouldn't worry about an engagement ring too much, however you deserve a wedding ring. Start saving up and buy what you can afford.

I had my girl pick the ring out and bought it. I think you should have a ring no matter what the price. It doesn't have to be exspensive. It is a symbol of your love and it lets everyone know you are taken.

I did but I truly would not care if i didn't because if that meant that we couldn't be together then i would have bin happy with out it. dint fell bad you didn't get a ring but you got a Husband that loves you that's all that should mater you have someone you truly love so your lucky;) don't be sad be happy you have what some people will always search for love

Don't feel bad. There are plenty of ways to get one, Wal-Mart and pawn shops. It does not have to be large to symbolize anything. Sure, an engagement ring is fun to show off, but I would give it up in a second if it stood between my husband and me.

We went together to pick out my ring.
I have a friend who married a very rich man and she didn't want an engagement ring.....she wears a plain white gold band.
A ring isn't important.
