I was curious if my female guppy would breed with anything other than another guppy. I have a male platy in the same tank with her. I bought her already pregnant from a pet store that had her in the same tank with platies.

No! Common logic and genetics. People are amazing. Guppies and Platies are COMPLETELY different fish and have completely different genetics to match. They wouldn't even attempt to mate with each other (that makes them smarter than you).

They cant get pregnant by any other species and they shouldnt try to breed with any other species, but I have a male guppy who is severely confused, he trys to mate with my male and female platies. And the sad thing is I have 7 females for him to choose from but no he either wants the only female platy or the only male platy! I think he needs some direction.

actually yes a guppy WILL breed with a platy i know because i have fry. both my male guppy and female platy were only 2 weeks old when i got them. they have been together for about 6 months now and they had babies. they are what you call hybrid.

Endler's Livebearer, but they are very hard to find in aquarium stores.
