No, the 22nd Amendment prevents him from doing so.
It says that no person shall be elected to the office of President more than twice. However, If he became a congressman, he could become Speaker of the House, and then if both the President and Vice-President were incapacitated, then he could rise to the position.
Even then he could only hold office for no more then 2 years, because the 22nd Amendment also states that if the President has not been elected, but has held the office for more than two years, he can run no more than once.
However, with an approval rating of 25 percent, there is no chance that this country would elect him again.

Hi,
Even if George W. Bush changed parties, he could not run for a third term. The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution states: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice." Ratification of this amendment was completed on February 27, 1951.
The only president to have served more than two terms is Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was elected four times and died during his fourth term.
thanks!
Mike

No. After 2 terms, no matter what party, or affiliation you are, you may not run for president for a third term.

Sigh. No, a President can now only be President for two terms or 8 full years. He can't be Vice President, either.
Uh huh, and you have to illegally rig your account to answer your own question.

Hello Vincent,
No, federal Law says there is a 2-term limit. Political party affiliation is not relevant.

No, the max is two terms, no matter what side. Even if he suddenly became democrat he couldn't run again. They made the rule because one of the presidents died in office.
