If I was your parent, I wouldn't let you date either. I can say that just by reading your question. You sound like a little naive girl with raging hormones & you can't make your own decision. That's what parents & the law is for.
By the way, I glanced at your profile. It's quite a joke.
Get an education. I myself had more sense at 13.
Have a nice day!

I'm laughing my *** off over here trying to figure out what "on da real" is and how incredibly stupid it sounds. I just want to say that you should go back to English class learn a few more things then think about dating. It helps if you have intellectual conversation with someone your dating.

Well, your profile says you're 13, and that's too young for dating.
Personally, I don't think kids should be allowed to date until they're 18. If the government believes children aren't capable of making sound decisions until that age, then they've no business getting involved with one another.
Plus, the idea behind dating is really just a poorly-masked fornication ritual, and teenagers shouldn't have any part in that.

Well, its very simple.
1.Your parents have more experiences than you have and so they have seen more bad incidents in their real life than what you can even think of in your imaginary world. So, they want to use what they have learnt and protect you.
2. At their age, they cant think like a teenager, the joy, the energy, eagerness a teenager has. Even if they try to remember from their past memories how they felt than, the feling is a cocktail of past memories and present situation.
In brief, you cant understand them and they cant understand you. That is what is called generation gap and their is no way out.

maybe because thier children use terms like "on da real"
But seriously. Parents just want to protect you. Especially if your a girl, they know how guys can act, and we all know there is only one thing on thier mind (mine included) Don't be mad at them, they are just protecting you for as long as they can. Kids grow up too fast these days. Its a shame. Best of luck to you.

Some parents won't let their children date, because they were teenagers one time too & they realize from previous experience that most of the time whenever you send your daughter out with a dude he's going to try & get in her pants & they probably don't feel like raising their lazy, slacker kids babies.

you are probably too young, and parents set the rules. Try to be more mature and responsible, you may earn new privlages. But dating is serious, and most kids arent ready until at least 15-16.

Well, because we don't feel our children are responsible enough yet... especially when they cant even use proper english to convey their thoughts. Trust us, we have been there and done anything and everything that you could even think of doing. You might think that you know so much more than your parents, but we have one advantage over you, and that is life experience. Grow up, and once you do maybe you will be mature enough to date.

Dating has many responsibilities. Remember, your parents were once a teenager and they do have experience. Most parents who have high restrictions, usually had expereinces of their own and because of it, they are trying to protect you from evil, std and most of all peer pressure. Keep your virginity as long as you can, you will be thanking your parents, when time comes.
