Simply that. It's part of a story I'm working on, and I know nothing about cheerleading or pom (well, I know enough to write about it, I'm just not sure what a practice would be like). I'm trying to figure out which one I want to choose. What is the difference between the two? Other than the normal difference, dance and cheering.

Thank you!

PS- Be NICE!

i'm a cheerleader for a highschool-
we practice anywhere from 3-5 days a week.
My practice consists of: running, strecthing & warm ups. motion drills. jumps ( toe touches, pikes, herkes etc.) mounting. we somtimes go over chants & cheer's to prepare for games. tumbling. sometimes make up new chants/cheers. my team also competes, so we will practice stuff for competition (dance, mounting, tumbling, cheers, chants, etc.) At the end of a practice we do cool down stretches, and more conditioning (like crunches, pushups, etc.)

Cheerleading practices mainly consist of tumbling, cheer routines (making them perfect). And if you are talking about a competition team it includes, tumbling, working on the competition routine, and stunts.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what pom is. I'm an allstar cheerleader and we don't use pom poms.

Pom is a dance style that is similar to cheer in that it is extremely tight and clean, but it uses elements of dance like pirouettes that are not generally seen in cheer.

My cheer practices consist of a warm-up, stretching, motion drills, jumps, stunting, tumbling, and dancing. Then we cool down and talk about how it went and what our goals are for next time.
