My 13 year old sister in law and her friends decided to break into a rival girlfriend's house and vandalize the girl's room and have a party while the girl and her family were away on vacation. I know this is horrible, and i cant believe what are kids are doing these days. The father of the family has decided to press charges. I was wondering what she could be charged with maximum to minimum, and what the penalties are with in the law, maximum to minimum? thanks

p.s. we live in Texas yikes!

She'll probably get minimum for first offence Young Offenders Maybe a year probation and probably will have to take some counselling where she has to talk to a counsellor and explain why she planned this crime and didn't feel remorse for it. This will stay on her record if she has another offence when she gets older.

at a minimum to a maximum: breaking and entering, trespassing, criminal damage to property, if there was alcohol involved, minor in posession of alcohol, if the music was really loud they could also be charged with disturbing the peace. As for the sentence that will be up to the district attorney or whoever is prosecuting the matter. Hopefully she spends some time in juvie.

She'll get a minimum of 2 years probation. Max, depends on the judge to a large extent. She should own up to it and try to cut a deal with the prosecutor.

Depends on how much money you have to defend her. Period!!!

If you hire a private attorney you are talking about 8,000 dollars to settle this in about 4 months time.

She's a minor and that will bode well for her. I would go for the maximum punishment a minor could get. Maybe juvi jail for awhile.
