Al Gore has made it pretty clear he isn't going to run at all. Fred Thompson? Who knows? If he ever gets off his lazy duff and actually starts campaigning it will be a miracle. He wants to run a "different" sort of campaign lol. He thinks he can somehow avoid the vetting process that is going to make him answer questions about his involvement w/Nixon, his lobbyist activities and his former pro-choice stance. Fat chance of that happening. Apparently he thinks he can just cruise on in, not answer any questions about his past, and have the country fall in love with him. He seems like one strange dude to me.

Gore - no way, as it is way too late for him to start raising the major $$$ and get a solid staff together for the primary season

Thompson - for all his bluster, it again comes down to raising funds and an outlook that a late candidacy can actually capture the nomination in a fractured field....with McCain looking more like John Glenn 1984 than JMc 2000, it will perhaps doom his possible candidacy, since the $$$ are now going to be basically split by Rudy and Romney and voters have two clear choices, not a trio, where a late run could tip tepid percentages his way

Clinton and Obama are not any further something mutually as whilst in comparison with Al gore. this may well be great. He does not choose any delegates by making use of actuality if no clean winner is present day-day on the convention, it may improve right into a brokered convention the area each and every individual would suitable be chosen, alongside with Gore.

Al keeps saying he isn't going to, but even I, a Republican, know that if he does, he'll win in a virtual landslide. It'll be sorta like an apology from those who think he either should have won the first time or the race was stolen from him, which, of course, it wasn't.

I wonder if maybe he's having too much fun and making too much money now to bother.

They're both waiting. I think its largely because they want the current candidates to tire out, and are hoping the American public will get sick of them. Then...as we get close to primary season, they are probably going to pounce.
