Definately. Gold coast and Sunshine coast are very good places to surf.

I've been living on the Gold Coast for some years now, love the surf (hell, I only live 100/200m away from the beach!).

If you can get to the coast you will find great surf. Northern NSW is only an hour and a half south of Brisbane and there are often better waves down there and certainly better beaches than the Gold Coast.

hi there yes brisbane is a great city, there are many things to do and look at as well as its not far (in comparison to other places) to the sunshine and gold coast.

qld is great 4 surfing here is my advice for the surf places

sunshine coast: about 1 hr north of brisbane
if u want smaller surf head towards alex headland/mooloolaba
4 bigger i suggest places like sunshine beach, noosa, ann st currimundi etc

for the gold coast i suggest places like
greenmount, duranba, Burleigh/burleigh heads, surfers paradise, broadbeach etc

hope this helps you good luck in your job

Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are mostly beach breaks, but you are only a couple of hours drive from places like Angourie.

Do it.

if you want to surf alot - wouldn't it be better to get a job and live on the sunshine coast? you'd be a much shorter commute to the surfing beaches & wouldn't have to pay extra accommodation & travelling expenses. the highways north and south are very congested on friday nights, sat a.m. and sunday afternoons & traffic can be very slow.
wish it was 28c today in brisbane lol
