It is time for the violation system on here to be booted into touch? I know both these users had disagreements with others and their own opinions, but we are all adults and can take a bit of fierce debate surely. Using Forums is a hobby for some people and they are losing this hobby because of a few people sending too many violation notices. Would it do any good if we all emailed Y/A to complain and have the system changed?

Politicsguy: They were victims of the people who report others for no reason but to get them off.

Helen s: Thats ok if people arent just hijacking the site and spoiling peoples enjoyment.

Iv emailed Y/A and got an automated response which said there would be 'No' direct response to me, and they will look at the suggestions i made. Probably as closely as they look at remarks made when you've emailed them about a dodgy violation.

Can i suggest we all email Y/a and quote Voice of reason as the reason why we are emailing them. Im about to try again. Thanks to everyone so far...

And if anyone does set up a petition to Yahoo, i wonder how many would sign it?

I,m with you on this one Mick, Voice was a good debater even though we could never agree, I think that if I express an opinion it's there for you to agree or disagree and of course for you to pull me apart. What's all this abuse button. Come on we should all be together on this. Your suggestion is worth a try.

Like others said we are not ALL adults.Free speech is a wonderful thing and the Internet is very big outside yahoo.Lots of absolute free speech going on.Answers is a concept where certain rules apply.Nobody forces you to join or continue to participate.

I and everyone else who participates here promised to follow the rules.Nobody put a gun to our heads.Isn't it the right of a company to decide their own rules on THEIR website? This is not public domain

I assume they have been removed because someone did not agree with them, just as they do on 'News' It has been suggested recently that is someone with the right computer skills could set up a petition to Yahoo, those who wished could sign it. I imagine that most of us would because we are all fed up with these mischievous violation notices and suspensions.

I would have thought that it would be extremely unusual for people to agree with one another in 'Poliitics'. I wonder which party line has been deemed to be the acceptable one?

We are not "all adults." The minimum age for this site is 13 and there are plenty of kids ages 10-12 on this site with their parents' permission, obviously. This site is definitely a forum, but it's not a podium for racists and pornographers.

No, i have reported violations in the past for dirty language and racism. If we put up with that type of abuse on here the whole thing will just become worthless and seedy.

I've tried that already on behalf of another person who was recently tossed. We even started something on the forum and Y!A removed it.

Good luck.
