The 'best' thing you can do at this stage is to shelve thoughts of being 'famous' and focus on your skills, your talent. Get stage experience before you take off for the Coast. You are one of several thousand young people who hit town every week, 'to be an actor or an actress.' Hollywood is not for the faint of heart, young people are chewed up and spit out there through exploitation and greed and selfishness. Learn all you can learn of the profession of acting, of plays, of filmmaking, of protecting yourself from the jerks, the porno thugs, and the scam artists who pose as agents, as casting directors, etc. Movies are made in less corrupt parts of the USA--in Orlando, in Wilmington, NC, in NYC, in Chicago. Subscribe to the trade press, subscribe to theatre and movie websites. Contact AFTRA and SAG. Prepare, prepare, prepare. Otherwise you are what? Yet another young fool. Yet another.

Get an agent. Take acting lessons. And get some professional head shots. Work up a real good resume, perhaps a professional can help.

There are books in the library on this topic, too. Ask a librarian.

Good luck.

Train and study your craft as an art and for its intrinsic value. Don't dive into it for the sake of stardom or the glitter of Hollywood. Celebrity can be a fleeting existence.

Watch the Inside the Actor's Studio on TV (BRAVO) if you have cable. You can get an abundance of first hand knowledge from the interviews. Good luck with your dream.

You need a strong resume. You need a lot of Lead roles on your resume. You need to have studied at a TOP acting school, not the local community college.

You need to have performed in the Regional Theaters.
Agents want to see that you have leading lady roles.

go a college with a really good acting department and get a degree. i would recommend you get a minor in it or get a double major and find something else along with it because it is a very hard business to get into and be successful. good luck!
