Im 19 years old and Ive been dealing with endometriosis since I was 16. I just recently was diagnosed and had a laproscopy to remove some of it but the pain came back 2 weeks later. Ive been to 3 different doctors which 2 advised the shot but one told me there was really bad side affects and ive read online just about everywhere that the shot has horrible side effects. Im very confused as to if I should get the shot. Anyone have any advice?

There are really bad side affects, I would look into other alternatives instead of the shot.

I've been on the shot now for almost 2 months now and i've have mild side effects. Mostly what i'm experiencing is tired alot more than usual and my appetite has definately picked up (which is a good thing for me) mild hot flashes (course the 99 degree weather doesn't help) oh and the best one, I haven't had my period since i got the shot. It all depends on the woman and how her body is going to react to it. I got on depo because my sister is on it and she loves it and my cousin has been on it six years and has had no problems. But i'm not gonna stay on it for over a year because i plan on having a baby in the next 2 years when my hubby comes home. But i would say if you feel like you want to get the shot, try it and if it doesn't seem to be working out then don't get it anymore and try something else.

i was on the shot for two years and i hated it i never had a period and gained alot of weight just to show how much weight i gained. before i went on the shot i weight'd 110 lbs when i got took off it i weight'd 155 lbs it was the worst thing ever. it also hurt to have intercourse all the time if i were you i wouldn't go on it i would talk to a doctor about another method of b/c. if you wanna know what else i went through just let me know.
