Just keep ventilation going and steer clear of ladders.
We just purchased our first home and wanted to paint, and my doctor said to just keep the air moving and PLENTY of fresh air in the room. Use common sense and you'll be fine.

Your best bet would be to make sure you use water based latex paint, find a box fan and open all of the windows, as well as wear a mask. Also take frequent breaks to get fresh air. I know women who have painted their babies rooms by themselves, using the waterbased latex paint and they where fine as were their babies. Just make sure the area is well ventilated and go hit your husband in the head for me cause if I was there I would definatly wasck him a good one for being such a typical idiot. I am pretty sure you will be fine but try to talk someone into helping you especially when you have to start doing the top of the wall you don't need to be climbing. You may fall, cause when your pregnant you tend to get dizzy. Good luck and I hope someone gets off their butt to help you.

i wouldn't paint while pregnant even with the mask over my nose. Your husband needs to get up off his a$$ and help you out with the nursery. Or Just hire a painter.

I had the same question when I first got pregnant, because we were in the midst of doing some remodeling. Everything I have read has said it's fine as long as you are in a well ventilated space. It also said to stay away from oil based paints, stains, and laquors (sp?) Congratulations and good luck!!

Wait until after you deliver to finish painting the nursery. Your hubby has already said that he has trouble gripping things...
Do you have a church? Maybe there is someone there that can help you out? We have a men's group that formed to help people out in situations like this - it can't hurt to ask!

I painted while pregnant. I just made sure to get a water based paint and made sure the room was well ventilated. If you get lightheaded, take a break. Make sure someone is home with you, just in case.

As long as the paint is water based... also you may want to wear a painters mask. Make sure the room is well ventilated and take a few breaks. I painted several rooms while pregnant it is ok to paint... just stay away from stains and oil based paints (oil based is typically used in kitchens and bathrooms though)

You should read the label on the paint and see if it has any contrindications about pregnancy if so - then hire someone to do it. Tell your hubby he wouldnt do it so you hired someone to get it done.
Paint fumes are not good for you. Some paint has little fumes others a lot - the label should tell you.

1) use latex / water based paint
2) don't over extend yourself
3) make sure there's a lot of ventilation
4) sarcastically thank your hubby & friend for being so helpful and considerate of you & your baby's health & well being.
