Small items (less than $100) are anything on the accessories brochure such as: rubber mats, carpet mats, on-seat coat hanger...etc

Larger items are stand alone (single items) factory options ($200-$400 range): fog lamps, PDC...etc

I doubt you can get your salesman to throw in anything more expensive than $500 unless he's really making a ton of money ripping you off at the back end.

You don't "pimp" a BMW dealer for anything. They do this all day long and aren't in it to give stuff away. The only way you'll get a dime or an extra teaspoon of gas from them is if they know for certain they have to do it or lose the sale altogether. If they wanna make $6000 profit when they sell you a car, but you offer them the opportunity to choose between $4000 or ZERO, you might get a deal. If you play it right you can get a BMW for $1000-$1500 over invoice. (As long as it's not an "M" car)

Buying a car is a bizzarre combination of financial warfare and diplomacy. If you play the game the first time by yourself, you will lose, pay through the nose and get crappy financing too. Take a battle-hardened veteran with you and be quiet and do what they say so they can get the hot deal for you.

They usually don't throw in much. If you're lucky, you could get maybe $500 off the MSRP price of your BMW. I shopped around for my 2002 330ci and was able to get a dealer to price a brand new "not-yet made" car at $500 below MSRP. I got the top of the 3-series line (not including the M3) so there wasn't much "extra" they could throw in...I did get a free key chain. Maybe you can see if they'll throw in some all-weather mats for you.

Good luck with your purchase!

ok, Bmw dealers are money orientated...quite arrogant.. best thing to do is go to a dealer, ask for a good deal..tell him you got a brother thats looking for a motor too. .say he is lookin to by a new 4x4... and a small car for his wife.. tell him that if if does you am honestly good deal. you'll get him to go for a x5 from him and a mini for his wife! then, prove to him that you can afford the car.. . . then, get him to write the deal down, with a business card. . then be a biatch. go to another Bmw dealer, that dont do as much business. and speak to a salesman, ask him.. if he says no..be like ok I'll go to the other dealership as this is what was offered..and he will sit you down and beat the other guys price. a sale is a sale. . they do ther best to make money..but they must do ther best to not lose a customer that will buy!
