Let's say for example a person is 19 and is dating a 12 year old. Yes, gross, I know.

How would they get caught, according to most cases? People who know them rat them out? The little girl's parents find out somehow? Asking out of curiousity.

Most of the instances I've heard of stem from the parents reporting.

That's only if it's against the 12 year olds will, that would have to be proven, because some 12 year olds like older men because they feel more secure and safe with them(father figure someone to take care of them). They would only get caught if the 12 year old told the police or someone in her family it was against her will, but she would have to do it right away, because they would wonder why she waited so long to tell. They both should know the difference anyways.

Yeah people rat them out. My past neighbors actually knew someone who was 24 dating a 14 year old.

Loose lips sink ships - the girl or the boy talks about it
Or, the girl becomes pregnant

Usually they are caught, many times when the child becomes pregnant!
