See that's the illusion of the admin and some of those on the left. One thinks it's unwinnable and the other treats the situation as constantly advancing.

Neither are right. It wasn't a good war to enter, imo; but fundamentally it's not impossible to win. There has been some areas that accomplished levels of security, and it's feasible with a lot of effort and time for a 'general' level of peace. Bush just acknowledged that he expects it to be like Israel in it's more tough days ie many suicide bombings, but still a functioning government.

I'm not really sure what will happen, because on one hand we have people saying 'it's unwinnable and lets leave' (basically forgetting the long-term consequences of that), and we have a very stubborn adminstration, whom won't bend a bit in how they run the war...and is sometimes overly optimistic.

Not a great pick of people, imo. Your question shows how bad off America is. It's chose seem to be both wrong.

Unwinnable? What the hell does that mean?
The only time you fail is when you give up - and, unfortunately, that seems to be the accepted policy of the left.
Ever consider how much more difficult our objectives in Iraq become when we have to fight two fronts - the terrorists in the Middle East and the liberals on the home front?

Well I watched the president in his news conference this morning. Since he claims to be from Texas I guess he should understand this phrase "that dog won't hunt"...It is not Iraq is unwinnable. It is unwinnable with his strategy. It is not worth what we would have to do to win as well. There really are more important things to do than keep stuck in this mess. It would be nice to have him admit he loused up as well when he got us back there in the first place.....I don't expect to ever hear that one..."Mission Accomplished". Recall?

No one is pretending like we're winning. Bush, much of his administration and many Conservatives still believe that there is the hope of winning. Is that the equivalent of "pretending" to you?

Anyone who can see past the end of their nose can acknowledge that the war hasn't been going in a favorable direction for quite some time. Just don't ignorantly fool yourself into believing that we've lost. We haven't.

Oh, we can WIN this war.

The question is: Does anyone HERE have the guts to stick it out until the year 2017--at the cost of $12B a month?

It's not unwinnable - every inch of progress - like Gitmo - you call a "war crime."

Why do you people continue to bad mouth our troops?? I have a question for you.... Are you in Iraq? I assume you are since you're so sure we're not winning.

Didn't Hitler keep telling the German public that they were winning too?

Not unless you don't value human life or your integrity. The best you can do is fall back and regroup. That's what our government needs to do.
