Since there are no-smoking sections in restaurants and other venues, woudl you support a no-kids section?

I cant stand going out for a decent meal only to have the entiure time ruined by kids running up and down around the tables, screaming babies and public breastfeeding right there in the restaurant.

Absolutely.

Most parents seem to think (fueled by society and commerce which needs replacement consumers) that they are some kind of hero for having reproduced, and by inference that everyone should put up with their offspring no matter how ill mannered.

As a mother, I wouldn't have a problem with that. The only thing is that if the parents are letting the kids run up and down in the restaurant, they are probably not going to keep them out of the no-kid section. As for the screaming babies, you can always politely ask them to take the baby outside or talk to your waiter.

The breastfeeding thing though, well, the baby has to eat. Get over it. It's a totally natural thing. If you don't want to see it, don't look.

I would defanatly support a no kid section. Its not that I don't like kids, I have them myself, but there are times when I go out to get away from kids. Nothing is worse than a romantic dinner, which is few and far between, spoiled by kids that aren't even yours.

I don't blame the kids (well, not all the time), some parents just choose to ignore the bad behavoir, or they think its cute.

Yeah in certain restaurant that would be OK, but others are designed for family meals so they would not be OK. But a lot of restaurants I would support that and I have a 3 year old son, but most generally we just don't go out to eat when I have him because I can't enjoy my food either. But some people are way to picky about how children should act. They are kids but I do agree if they can not behave parents shouldn't take them out to eat except to McD's or Chucky Cheese.

I absolutely love my children (ages 3 and 10) more than anything, but I wholeheartedly support a "No-Kid" section in a restaurant!

I hate going out, paying a fortune for my meal, only to have it ruined by hearing a bunch of kids yelling and screaming. It drives me crazy! I have three words for those people who find it necessary to take their children to a nice, sit-down restaurant: "HIRE A BABYSITTER!"

Furthermore, they should do this in movies, too! Certain showtimes should be designated as "No-Kid" times, no matter what the movie is! I can't tell you how many times I have been to the movies and had kids yelling, running around, throwing food, and generally being obnoxious! Sadly, most of my bad experiences were in rated R movies, where kids shouldn't have been, anyway! Movies are too expensive to see to have them ruined by rude children!!!!

Whew....I feel soooo much better. Thanks for letting me vent!

I don't blame the kids...it's the idiot parents that have no common sense. If you are going to let your kid run wild like a feral beast , do it with all the other screeching parents that act like rejects from the Jerry Springer show. I have friends with kids and they know when it's time to pack up and not ruin everyone elses night out. It's called courtesy and being raised with respect for others. HUGE pet peeve of mine. My parents didn't let me act like Attila the Hun out in public, nor did t

Yeah, because there are family sections sometimes, so why not the other way around?

Personally I don't mind kids but I see what you mean

I'm going to have to say yes. My parents didn't let me act like Attila the Hun out in public, nor did they have screaming meltdowns in the middle of a store.

I have apparently witnessed one too many parental meltdowns where parents and kids have just gone hog wild.

Maybe I need to stay out of Walmart for a while
