Well, there are reasons, up to a point. Fear is a big one. Many people are afraid of being vulnerable in some way. They sense vulnerability in themselves and in makes them feel stronger to inflict suffering on someone who seems more vulnerable then they are. A surprising amount of despicable behavior boils down to this. Religions take advantage of this trait in people. Politics and power mongering through the ages is often caused by this kind of fear. Fear of vulnerability and pain is the reason that abuse runs through generations. Children have to be taught to be mean. I will never believe it when anyone says that children are just naturally horrible.

Some people actually have a mental disorder, like a sociopath, or someone with brain damage and they are actually incapable of empathy.

However, even though I could go on and on about psycho-social causes of hateful behavior, there will alway be a part of me that just can't understand how people can do the things they do. Deep down, I guess I just feel like there should be some kind of basic humanity that stops them, and I think most of us feel that way. If you feel like you will never understand how people can inflict pain, be glad. It's a sign of sanity!

Fear, we hate out of fear. From fear stems jealousy, envy, and hate.

first we hate our siblings for competition reasons, but we ban together if something else comes along that we fear more.
second we hate our neighbors for competition reasons, but we ban together if something else comes along...
nationality... culture... religion... color of skin... and then, should aliens show up, we will ban together and be racist against the aliens.

So long as there is fear, there will always be hate.

why do great white sharks eat sea lions? because it's in their nature to do so.

why do killer whales eat great white sharks? Because it's in their nature to do so.

humans hate because it's in our nature to do so. but as humans we have a choice to do so based on reason and rational thought as opposed to instinct. those that hate for no reason have no ability to think rationally or reason based on facts and not their own personal bias.

I've tried asking myself that because I know somebody who is absolute pure evil(has enybody read East of Eden? If so, surely you know that stupid biatch Cathy Amos.. Well this biatch is just like that Cathy Amos)

People want power and their superiority complexes drive their souls... They hate, they steal, they hurt, and they epitomize the devil.

And no, this biatch was given everything and abused her privledges. You give somebody power, and they will always want more... People + power = hate
