i miss when we celebrated diversity, now we try to find a boring middle ground for everything so that we don't upset anyone that can't relate.

It is ridiculously out of control. Reminds me of the story of the Emperor's new clothes. He walked around naked insisting he had clothes on, and no one was brave enough to say to him that he wasn't. It took a child pointing a finger and laughing at him to get him to put real clothing back on. Basically to make him realize that he wasn't fooling anyone and was only making a fool of himself. This is what is happening in this country.

Having a little consideration for other people is never too much.
Language and behaviour are influenced by the popular attitude, and conversely, the popular attitude influences language and behaviour.
I am a half-native woman. Even growing up in the middle of the era of political correctness, I found it difficult to fight against the barrage of bigotry, prejudice and sexual and racial slurs people unknowingly set upon me.

And about that song? Innocence can go hand-in-hand with sensitivity.

Yes, what's even worse is that if you even dare to mention any unflattering statistics about a certain minority group here, your answer will get deleted and the poster banned. Did you know that In the United States in JUST 2005, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped by a black man, while between zero and ten black women were sexually assaulted or raped by a white man. I'm just stating a simple fact here yet I guarantee the mods will delete it because they hate hearing the truth.

“Political Correctness” is nothing more then an attempt by certain (mostly Liberal) interest groups to censor the free speech of those with whom they disagree by declaring their opponents position “politically incorrect”.

When employed in this manner, “political correctness” poises a tremendous threat to the First Amendment rights of all Americans.
