I'm 22 yr old female and for the life of me I can't seem to get close to ppl. i have friends, all of whom live far away. So clearly I am capable of making friends. And I do have ppl I go out with occasionally but no close friends in the area that I can hang out with on a regular basis and I cant seem to make new friends.
I guess my main thing is I get along with guys easily always have; mainly because I mostly grew up around boys. I would really like to have a few girlfriends in the area to hang out with, go to happy hr, shop, workout with, talk, etc. but again I just cant seem to develop a friendship with girls. It’s not like I call them all the time, or am rude or unfriendly.
I call them randomly from time to time to say hi and I get nothing in return, mainly girls but even this one guy. Its like they call me back when I call and say yea we should hang out and sound sincere about it but they don't call me back again. I'm starting to feel like a leper. :-(

Do you tend to open up to people easily, or are you sorta detached? If you're detached, people will not confide on you. I don't know why. This is just what I have observed. Try opening up to someone. It may help. People may trust you more if you trust them (and show it).As far as saying, "yeah, let's hang out somewhere...," be proactive. Suggest a time and place. You're both probably waiting for the other to call. Good luck. Lemme know how it turns out.

I feel the same way you do. Everything you said is exactly how things are for me. I always think to myself what the hell is wrong with people these days, seems like everone around me is just changing and becoming fake. It's like I don't even talk to anyone anymore, or at least have a interesting conversation with the people I come in contact with.

I myself have same problem but I do some friends which are guys and most of the gf s of mine dont like and they start bitching about it but if need a friend to talk to let me I guess we could be friends because my best friend she got married last year and she is busy with the hubby and I miss spending my time shopping and hanging out with her

well if u need a friend to talk to i am here for u all u half to do is find a friend u can go on line or just go up to one but remember if u want i can be ur friend

just start looking for other people eventually you will find the right ones
