OK, look, I'm 37 years old, and I still don't quite know what I want. I have been through 2 marriages and have had MANY boyfriends over the years that screwed me over. I just don't think I am compatible with men.

I have NEVER been in a lesbian relationship, but in some ways it does seem appealing to me. I have slight attractions to more "masculine lesbians", because I feel they can protect me. Plus they don't have the odors of a man, too!

Should I TRY to be a lesbian.

BTW: I have 4 kids.

Honey, only be a lesbian if you *really* want to be a lesbian. Otherwise, be happy with being bisexual. Don't be someone who gets involved in a relationship only to figure out that the same sex isn't for you and then leave a lover hanging. You've already happen to you; I doubt you'd do it to someone else; but I still worry. Your children will always have a good Mom and your being a Lesbian will not impact them at all as long as you are a good Mom to them.
Be what you need to be; just be happy about it. Blessings.

Sexuality isn't based on what you should or shouldn't do.

If that were the case, a lot of gay people would do what they're told they "should" do, that is, be straight.

You don't get to pick what you want based on your experience or society.

You do what feels natural and hope the consequences aren't too severe. If you were a lesbian, you'd feel like one no matter who you were with, no matter what society said. You'd never truly be happy with a guy, any guy.

If you had bad relationships, it has more to do with your personal issues or the guys than your sexual orientation.

If you want to be a lesbian, I'd suggest you decide that only women will make you happy, that you're attracted to women, that you want to be with a woman because even the most amazing guy won't cut it.

You're just a disappointed straight woman. Lesbianism won't fix that.

Obviously u don't have the Lord in ur life. The bible sz that a man may not lie w/a man & a woman may not lie w/a woman. gay life is a very difficult life, u just don't know what ur asking!
By the way, u want a woman who can protect u... from what?? Yourself?? Sorry, if this sounds harsh but I really think you should hear this. Try getting out of yourself & help someone else. Ask the Lord to help u find something worthwhile to do. Stop asking these questions and start answering some more. Read some self help books & keep busy w/that for a while....gd luk

In order to be a lesbian you don't have to try. You feel one. Have a discussion with yourself and find what is the thing you want. Maybe you're just bisexual and met the wrong men in your life. But I may make a mistake here. Anyway. it's up to you. If you feel that a woman can offer you love and protection then take the bull by the horns and go for it! Life's too short, hun!

Is this a serious question? Have you been paying attention to ANY of the forums or Q/A on here?

You cant CHOOSE IT!!!! You are born that way.

Maybe your incompatability with men is either youre personality or theirs. Its got nothing to do with choosing to be straight. So, in the same regard, you would have the same problems on the other side of the fence. Just with a woman rather than a man.

And dont be fooled. Some women smell WAY worse then some men I know!

Being a lesbian may not help. It is not the sex of the partner your picking but the type of people your picking. I have seen some very "masculine lesbians" totally treat their partners really bad. Beat on them and everything. Try to pick a partner that makes you feel good about you.

You can't just be a lesbian because men have screwed you over. Either you are or your not. If you feel attractions towards women then go for it. But you can't just decide to be one.

sounds more like you should be figuring out why you have always attracted the same type of person in your relationships. It isn't what they are doing wrong but what you are. by switching genders, without figuring this out first you will be in th exact same boat because you will be going after the same type of person, just with different plumbing

Being a lesbian is not something you decide to do. You either like the same sex, or you don't. I also don't believe that people are bisexual because everyone has a preference.
