The Fred and George scene was not as emotionally packed as in the book..................
......I agree with this, there was so much that seemed to be missed.

Dolores Umbridge was excellntly captured by the director............
.......Dolores umbridge i liked more in the movie than i did in the book. She bored me in the book, but the movie umbridge WOW!!!!

Harry saw Quirrel die in the first book so theoretically should have been able to see those funny horses.................
......Technically he didn't see Quirrell die, nor did he see his parents die. Death had to sink in for him to see the thestrals. Talking of the thestrals........they were good. I was a little bit disappointed that Neville couldn't see them though, and they weren't quite what i had pictured.

The book was better....................
.......Book is always better!!! :)

The chaos that the school was in was not emphasized..............
.......I was so looking forward to seeing the swamp, and it didn't happen, mind you i did like flitwicks "yes!!!!" I also missed seeing the nifflers and this is where i really missed Peeves.

They didnt attack Hagrid............
......nor mcgonagall.

Lupin had NO LINES................
......True, but he was there........which means he must definately be playing a bigger part in the last two movies!!!!

Malfoy had less than 5 lines...........
........Who did malfoy think he was????.........All dressed in black suits, so were Crabbe and Goyle.

NO QUIDDITCH.........
......There will probably be no more quidditch!!!!!

Sirius as dog DID NOT MATCH MY VIEW OF HIM OR THE PICTURE OF HIM IN THE THIRD BOOK............
.......Sirius the dog really does not play a significant role in the movie or books. He matched his appearance from the third movie......but i agree,,,,i thought him to be bulkier.

Darth Vader.............
....a teeny tiny amount..........all characters face the good v's evil scenario.

Nagini was not mentioned........
........But she was seen, even if it was only as a shillohuete against the wall.

Dumbledores end of year speech to Harry was cut short..........
....true.

What are your views?...............
Overall i really enjoyed the movie. Yes there was alot missing like Frienze. The scene where Aunt Petunia, knows more thean she lets on. The Dementors looked different. The fact that hermionie and Ron were not made prefect. Dobby...did you all notice that in the last two movies Dobby has not been mentioned........yet in the those same two books it is he and not Neville that has helped Harry. It was Dobby who told him about the use of gillyweed, and it was Dobby who told him about the room of requirement. Where is Dobby????? I didn't like the fact that it was Cho who dobbed them in, and that they used vertiserum on her. They have left that open, while the books clearly had that relationship finished. There was alot missing, but it is pretty hard to fit a whole years all in a 2.5 hour movie.

I went to the midnight opening of the movie, and for what? To see some crackpot director's idea of what the characters and events should have looked like on a silver screen! This is the most disappointing HP movie yet, and I can't believe I wasted my money and time on going to see such a thing. It was absolutely nothing like the book at all! Only a few of the characters look the way they were described in the books, but even then, characters can't save the movie all by themselves. I mean, what was up with Umbridge? She was supposed to look more like a toad. I mean, the actress played the part, but didn't really look it. It was completely off. However, if you're more into special effects than the plot, by all means it could be termed excellent. The film itself would probably have really impressed me if I hadn't have read the books before. I know it sounds harsh, but it really disappointed me and all of the people I have talked to that have actually read the books. If I were JKR, I wouldn't have gone to the premier or anything else associated with that movie just because they mauled the plot and characters of the book so much.

Sorry, but that's honestly how I feel.

The movie came out at 12:01am on July 11th here in the States, sxc_ précieux.

-I agree, Dolores Umbridge was WONDERFUL!

-Definitely Darth Vader

-Harry also saw his parents die. But he can't see the horse creatures in the books until Order of the Phoenix, either.

-EVERY book is better than the movie!

-Darth Crookshanks ;)

-I'd have liked to have seen the part where McGonagal comes upon a student causing mischief and corrects his spelling. :-D

-They let it be assumed that Hagrid was sacked by Umbridge.

-Darth Dumbledore ;) Loved the disappearing scene! "Dumbledore's got style..."

-They cut out most of the stuff at Black's house. Most important, I think, is the business with Kreecher and the locket they can't get open. (Possible Horcrux?)

-They think the kid who plays Malfoy is getting too old... :(

-There's not any Quidditch in the book... Umbridge cancels it. That was shown in the movie with the "All Student Organizations Disbanded" thing.

-Darth Sirius ;)

-Absolutely LOVED the actress they got to play Luna!

I agree, alot was left out from the books, but all in all the movie was well done. And yes I did have those weird Star Wars vibes too. The Fred and George departure scene was my favorite scene in the book and felt they could have done it better in the movie. I certainly would not have minded sitting there for a few extra minutes. And I was dissapointed the flashback scenes for Snape were cut short. Sirius as a dog was an excellent portrayl. And yes they did a great job casting Umbridge. (Although I pictured her a bit wider in girth!)
And why, oh why, did they leave the brain scene out?!

I thought the acting was far better than previous films. Emotionally, there wasn't enough payoff between Harry and Dumbledore... Sirius' death was confusing, and Harry never really had time to react to it, not in the Death Chamber or in Dumbledore's office. I really wished there had been a longer flashback scene to Snape's memory.

Luna was great! Umbridge was great! The director really got amazing performances out of everyone, and I'm glad he's returning for Half-Blood Prince.

Overall, an 8 out of 10 (would have been 9 or 10 if there weren't SO many unnecessary changes)

Finally the full version is avaiable!
This game sequel is somewhat closer to the story on book rather than on the movie. However, there are still some features which are specifically designed for this game.
For me, it's the best game ever.

The books will always be better than the movies, they couldn't possibly fit a 700+ page book into 2 hours and 20 minutes

as for no quidditch- good, I feel it's a waste of time both in the movies and in the books

-sigh- the movie was good for what it was, and definatley an improvement from the last one but I was really disappointed in the content as a whole. They barely covered the skeleton of the plot.
-I was thinking the same thing as you about Lupin and for that matter Tonks. No relationship has been established.
-AND quidditch and prefect-status would have been perfect scenarios onscreen to develop a little Ron/Hermione.
-Centaurs were barely seen! >(
-I liked what they did slipping Ginny subtle parts into the movie to establish her character.
-Thought I would dislike Luna's character in the movie but I loved it.
-I was looking forward to seeing : Nevel's parents in St. Mungo's, the spinning room of doors and more of the dept. of mysteries. = (
-The Veil: what the crap was that? didnt look at all like it shoulda!
-More music would have meant more emotion!
-acting def improved, and the style of this director is pretty awesome
-Dumbledore vs. Voldermort = WAY TOO SHORT, but awesome for the time it had.
----Book is always better. ----

I think they got dolores umbridges act pretty good. The book is always better. I like how they for once showed the love of harry and serious.I think that they should of showed hadrid being attacked becuase other wise grawp would have been stoped.I think malfoy wasnt as evil as he was meant to be in the book.I hated the fact that quiditch wasnt involved. They tryed to fit to much in one two hour movie.i think that everything was explained in words and not in actions. They did get alot of the part of the movie considering it was the largest book in the series. It was very dark.

I liked it, even though it had a lot of the parts I liked from the book missing. I think you thought of Darth Vader a little too much. LOL
