How common is it for women to lose weight during this period in their lives? I have continually lost over the past 8 months and have been under a doctor's supervision. All test results are fine and I am healthy.

Ladies, what experiences have you had?

Dramaqueen,
I wish I had some in my hips and butt. They are practically non exsistant at this point. I am a size 2 and have been consciously eating more to stave off further weight loss.

Alas, not yours. But if you find out what you have, see if you can pass it on to me.
Please?

Gaining weight tends to happen around and after menopause, which is more usually in your mid-late 40s or early 50s. Losing weight as you have been suggests you might be feeling very anxious and/or not eating enough, but I imagine these possibilities have been ruled out by your doctor. If you're healthy, you probably don't need to worry, but do make sure you eat well - good range of foods, plenty of fruit and veg, and enough.

I am 46 and my body is changing. I am also losing weight, but I am trying too, but it is true what they say about the middle age bulge. Watch the lower stomach and the hips, that is where the weight goes first.
