I believe in a genetic pre-disposition to been gay. I think human sexuality is far to complex and based on so much more than just a chemical compound and all that scientific stuff.
But i'm no genetist, so I don't know. I doubt expect we'll ever really work it out.
After all do people have a genetic code to prefer blondes over brunettes? And how would bisexuality fit into a genetic code for homosexuality?
Human sexuality is too darn complex in my opnion.
But to take a stab at a percentage i'll go for 72.5%

Not being a geneticist and not having read any literature on the topic, I can't say I have any proper idea. Genetics isn't a matter of opinion...lol. All I know is, I've been gay as long as I can remember, and I can't ascribe it to any "traumatic life event" or whatever, as some "Christians" would like, so that they could continue thinking of me as sick and perverted and making "poor lifestyle choices."

For me 100% genetic, for others, don't know I can't speak for them.

It's thought sexual orientation is likely the result of complex interactions of a number of factors — genetics, cognitive, environmental, and biological.

Sexual orientation is different from sexual behavior: sexual orientation refers to feelings and to self-concept. People may — or may not — express their sexual orientation in their behaviors.

In most people, yes, and their sexual orientation emerges in early adolescence. What's more, there's also considerable evidence to suggest that genetic and hormonal factors play a key role in shaping a person's sexuality.

I'd say at least 75%. Loved Qaz's answer: zero since none in her family was gay. Doesn't that then prove it is genetic?
