YOu can make up a basket by buying a lot of little things from the Dollar Store or Marshalls. You can even go to a baby store - like Babies-R-Us and look for items on clearance, although that might be hard to find. I have a 7month old and my mother always buys him toys from the dollar store and he LOVES them. There are usually a lot of cute, inexpesive things you can buy - you can also find a clear wrapping to put around the basket of presents - all you need to use is a blow dryer and it shrinks the wrapping around the basket. The dollar store sells these.

Hmm... like Target, Shopko, Walmart... all of those places have adorable baby things. You could also try smaller, local stores. Some have adorable baby packages... like we were able to put together a basket for my old coworker with a baby blanket and such inside. Craft sales are awesome places to get low-cost blankets, bibs, pillowcases, booties, anything handmade. These would be things like church sales. I love walking through the baby section at Kohls, too. But Herbergers, Younkers, JC Penneys, even some of the higher-end stores like Macy's and Nordstroms sometimes have baby sales. Rattles are awesome, as are little blocks, one-sies, things for them to chew on (the blankets with the silk loops around the edges are great for babies). Just use your imagination!

You can find some great "baby basics" at the Dollar Store. Yeah, they aren't name brand, but I promise they are just as good. If you're not up for that, there's always Wal Mart. If you aren't sqeemish about used things, any consignment shop or Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.

i would do things from walmart or the dollor store. I found alot of the little nick nacs from the dolllar stire like, baby wipe carrier, booties, hairbrush, socks, and things like that all for $1. Walmart has things cheap like clothes, jumpers, carriers, swings all for cheap.
Good luck to you!

Probably Walmart. These have lots of cute baby clothes and other things for babies and they aren't expensive.
