I am having problems connecting to my wireless internet, i have a SPEEDTOUCH st585 modem, and i can't connect to its wireless LAN, but can if it isn't wirless.
What do i need to do, i can't find the driver disk, so re-installing isn't an option.

You should be able to directly address the router/modem at
http://192.168.1.254 (unless you changed it) Just use a wired computer at first if you can't connect wirelessly.

Once on the managment interface you can check to be sure wireless is enabled and set an SSID particular for your use.

When you try to detect the signal in the Microsoft "find wireless networks" do you see anywireless networks at all? Thats the first step (layer 1). If nothing is there then the device may be disabled.
