Yes I agree. But I must say if you never expect you will never be relieved or excited or pleased either.
Life is like a box a chocolates you never know what you are going get. So we do not have to be stoics.

Yes. I think it's a good motto however you can look at that a bit differently, more positively. "If you only accept the best, that's all you'll ever get".

To not expect. Would be to lose all hope. It's like saying don't expect things to ever get better. And with that I disagree. Just because it's bad now. Don't mean it will always be so.

I think it's pretty stupid. You spend lots of time anticipating, and while you're anticipating you won't be as happy if you aren't expecting anything.
You see?
I think that the trick is to be easily pleased.
