I have a cpuple of co-workers who are trying to get me to go out and meet people.

i wouldn't exactly say that i am shy, I have no problem being in large crowds or near people, I just have major issues with opening my mouth and speaking intelligent words.
Hubby has friends over and i sit and listen to them, or stand in the circle and listen to what every one is talking about, I love observing people, but I can never think of anything to say.
The language part of my brain is just blank. And if i do start to get a sentence out, i forget one of the main words i was trying to say and it ruins the whole conversation.
Maybe I should start drinking.

I have that problem too, sometimes. Mine is not so much shyness, but its a deep fear if life that tries to take over and keep me secluded forever. But I also have the drive to live and enjoy life to its fullest, I think that drive is slightly stronger than the fear. I seem to be keeping my fear at bay most of the time, but there is still those times where it cripples me...............

I am a little shy but once I get a out and get to really know the person then I am fine. So just go out and have some fun.

Me! I have only a few close friends cos of my shyness...its great you have people to help you go out and meet people though..hope you get through it

when i was younger i was very shy and when my older sister was dating it was a year before her boyfriend believed her that she had a younger sister because when he came over i hide in the closet. at partys i hide in the bathroom or kitchen
