I don't really understand what the context is of these nicknames- like for a birthday party or something? You could use Disney characters:
Cinderella, Snow White, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and
Tinkerbelle, and Sleeping Beauty, and assign them however you want.

That is hard to do with out knowing you people. Obvious nicknames are Shellie for Michelle, Cari for Carissa, Maddi for Madison, KiKi for Lakeyah, Kay for Kayla, & Ari for Ariana.

most shows have 5 characters or less and the ones who have more well some are minor characters and so I picked my faves with my 2 year old from different shows. they are all girls blues clues will give you enough in one show, wonderpets has 4 but 2 could be animals in trouble

Uniqua
A curious, self-confident and high-spirited pink creature with polka dots, she is almost always sweet and friendly, though her strong opinions and occasional stubbornness get in the way sometimes. She is more tomboyish than Tasha, and often imagines herself in roles requiring brains and fortitude (scientist, pirate captain, etc). More than once she has got the mystery solved and interjects with a "You guys!" Much controversy has been raised over what species she belongs to. Suggestions included a ladybug (due to her pink polka dots), an ant (due to her antennae), and even an alien. But actually, she is a unique creature that is unlike any other in the world, and Uniqua is also the name of her species.[4] She has been called simply "Uniqua, the pink" in Knights Are Brave and Strong

Dizzy is an orange concrete mixer and one of the youngest in the yard. She is eager, curious, and easily excitable (female voice; catchphrase: "Brilliant!"). bob the builder

June
is a six-year-old girl who loves to dance. She also loves to look at the stars at night with her telescope, and is friends with one of Saturn's Rings (as seen in the episode Ring Around The Planet). She loves art. little einstens

Dora
In every episode, Dora goes on a quest, usually to help someone in trouble or otherwise do a good deed for someone. Her quests often involve gathering key objects and/or surmounting obstacles, and are usually done in three stages. Dora always asks the viewers at home to help her do things or to tell her things she needs to know. She can think of a way out of any trouble she or her friends come across. Her love for exploring seems to run in the family. Her Abuela (grandmother) was an explorer just like Dora when she was her age.Dora also enjoys sports as she was on a baseball team with her best friend Boots and her other friends and was coached by her father (his employment status was never changed after that). She loves soccer and is very good at it.

[edit] Deedee Doodle
Deedee plays a keytar and a keyboard. She is often the lead singer during performances. Deedee is always dressed in pink and purple from head to toe. Played by Lisa J. Lennox.

charlie and lola
Lola Sonner, aged 4
Marv Lowe, Charlie's best friend
Lotta, Lola's best friend
Soren Lorensen, Lola's imaginary friend
Sizzles, Marv's dog
Morten, Marv's little brother
(NOTE: The Surname 'Sonner' has been verified by Lauren Child's Agent Caroline Walsh on 11th Dec 2006. It is often mistaken to be 'Summer'.)

["I have this little sister Lola. She is small. .. and very funny."

The books have been adapted by Tiger Aspect into a cartoon series, using a collage style of animation which accurately captures the style of the original books. 2D cel animation, paper cutout, fabric design, real textures, photomontage and archive footage are all employed. The cartoons are also notable for their use of children's voices, rather than adult voice actors, a technique pioneered by the Peanuts television specials. (Both the books and the cartoon also mirror Peanuts' technique of never showing adults.) The first series of 26 episodes (11 minutes each) was first broadcast on November 7th 2005 on CBeebies [1]. The second series of 26 episodes (again, 11 minutes each) started broadcasting on CBeebies on October 2nd 2006 (with the morning broadcast also being shown on BBC Two). In the television series, Charlie is eight and Lola is five, and goes to school (her teacher is called Mrs. Hansen). In episodes of both the first and second series, Charlie celebrates his birthday (in 'It's a Secret. ..' and 'This Is Actually My Party'), although this doesn't seem to affect his age in other episodes.
