Cubs Fans Happy With Mediocrity
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cubdom must be chuckling. Since the fall of 2005, North Siders have had to endure the abuse of Sox fans who always have taken as much glee in Cubbie futility as in their own success. Not that the Cubs will be able to pull even until they win their own Series, but in the cultural blood feud that never has been particularly healthy for Chicago's psyche, there now is a sense of championship closure.

I'm not saying the Cubs will overtake the Brewers and win the division. There is cause for pause regarding Ryan Dempster's injury, which bolsters my belief that Milwaukee is better because of its bullpen and an every-day lineup that includes MVP candidate Prince Fielder. But it is refreshing, after the bizarre flurry of Lou-natic fringe episodes, to see them have fun and enjoy prosperity

-----------------------------------

The joy I felt when the Sox won a title in 05 had zero to do with Cubs fans or that I could rub it in their face. My disdain for the Cubs never comes to mind when I am watching the Sox play, whether the Sox are awful or at a championship level. Actually Jay's attitude sort of sums up why most Sox fans detest the Cubs and thier fans, it's their pretentious bullshit. Cub fans think they are better than everyone else, which is why they and Mariotti believe it is killing Sox fans that the Cubs are in the worst division in baseball (sorry Cards fans). If this earns the Cubs more press coverage than the Sox, like team performance ever had anything to do with the Cubs getting more ink, so be it.

Got just the site for you. The link is below. Click on "boxscores" in the left hand column and find the year, then the date. Pretty cool, huh?
