I don't, do I? In case I do, I shall watch myself. LOL (at last I know what it means!)

Once I have an answer that meets my needs, I grow impatient. Also, I have seldom gotten any new answers after the first four hours anyway. But they used to require you keep them open at least 24 hours, to give people all around the world, in every time zone, a chance to answer. Now we recognize that there are simply too many users for that to be a factor, and people are on here any time of day or night, regardless of their time zone. I suppose some people only have limited times of day when they can use the computer, but if I want a particular person's input, I email the question to him. Then I try to be patient until he answers.

I usually leave my questions open for 24 hours if a question I have asked on P&S - usually you don't get any other answers after an hour or so posted .......... but you are RIGHT, I forget about the users (and my contacts) on the other side of the world .... they need more time to answer ... with the time differance.

I usually extend mine a bit. If not, it's because I need the answer that same day, so I'll close it the next day since there is no reason to keep it open.

i usually leave them open til i recieve a notification email telling me my times almost out. otherwise - and this has happened twice - i close them shortly after posting because they're really stupid. I mean i sometimes don't think the question through completely or else i rant and it defeats the purpose of asking a question with the intent of someone answering to help out. that's all. :)

I guess I do because I think nobody else is going to answer when they sit for a certain amount of time without more answers.
I can leave them open longer from now on.

As fast as I have gotten the most satisfactory answer, especially questions that some people whom you don't know would use it to attack you for no reason... It puzzles me, so questions like that I will close it fast.

Unless the questions are very important to me, I leave them open for future, possible information of value to me.
