I don't recall any spanking that was the "worst". When I got a spanking, which was not often, I deserved it. I do remember the worst thing I did to earn one and that was when I lied about breaking a part of the banister on the stair case. I was playing with my skates inside and ran into the banister and broke a piece and when I asked what had happened I lied and said I didn't know. My parents found out that I lied and I was give a bit of a lecture on lying and my consequence was a spanking. I was about 7 and I know I deserved it! They were strict but good parents. Rosie and Ryan, you both were not spanked, you were abused. Don't confuse the two.

Hey - you're a bad mother if you do not discipline your children when they need it. It does not necessarily have to be a spanking. I can't stand when a parent negotiates with their child instead of taking the upper hand as the adult and setting the rules straight.

depends on the situation, and how hard you spank them
always give them a warning though....let them know you mean business!

i think if you dont spank them...then thats your business and if they are listening and dont need to be spanked then obviously YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!

Sometimes children need a lil swat on the butt. Nothing wrong with that. Now if your beating your child with an extension cord i think that might qualify you as a bad mother!

Not at all. Not every child needs "spanking" as the form of discipline. You know what form of disipline works for your children, I don't. :o)
