what do i do to control my nervousness and what if people laugh at me?how to react in such situations?

Admitting that you stutter is the best thing you can do as my family of stutterers has found that trying to hide the fact that you stutter only makes it worse!

Looking just over the heads of your audience and focusing on a point in the back of the room makes them think you are looking at them when you really aren't. Looking at them might make you see some of their reactions that could cause you to have a nervous response. This is true whether you stutter or not!

Have an attitude of not caring what your audience thinks or how they respond. All you should care about is that you do your best. If your best is not as good as some of the others doesn't matter. Just try to improve every time you have to speak in front of others.

Get the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" from The Stuttering Foundation of America and practice the steps diligently one at a time (don't just read through the book) then go back over them again and again until you overcome your stuttering.

I've done alot of persentations in highschool (recent grad) which I love to do. It's exciting and I love sharing something of my interest with my peers. Hmm I had a friend with the same problem what you should do is relax show them that you are serious and very intrested in your presentation. Ask them what they think? Get them involved that way you won't have to speak as much but still get you point across. To control you nervousness you can always take a deep breathe relax and if you mess up continue no one won't notice if you mess up if you doing a good job but if you just stop then yeah they will lol and people can be rude so don't pay attention to anyone's laughs everyone makes mistake's even them so you should be able to laugh at yourself as well and move on or handle the situation in a healthy manner. First, relax. Easier said than done, but will definitely help. If you practice your speech a lot and know the information well it will help you be confident and relaxed. While you're giving your speech you don't really have to look at people, look just over the tops of their heads - to them it feels like you're looking at them.

If they laugh you have a couple choices. 1 - ignore it and consider the fact that they are probably just as nervous and they will likely get laughed at too; 2 - laugh with them, being able to laugh at yourself in certain situations can really help you to relax.

Stand up.

Keep your head up.

Throw your shoulders back.

Don't think about what your audience is thinking because what other people think is none of your business. Your job is to do the presentation.

Concentrate on the job at hand. Do your job.

Your job/assignment isn't to think of yourself. It is to do what you have been asked to do.

People will be behind you. I don't want to sound odd, but I, for one, had a lover who stuttered and I found it one of the most endearing qualities.

They will be on your side.

If you weren't nervous you would have no talent. The more nervous you are the more talented you are. Nerves means talent.

Breathe.

Say what you mean and mean what you say. Take your time

ok, make sure your presentation is perfect, I sometimes stutter and I finaly realised why a few years ago. Whenever I got a project done really fast, i would try changing my essay around when reading it because I wasn't prepared. however when I made a project that I had very well done I didn't have a reason to be nervous and attempt to make changes so I would speak well. Just practice and make sure your project is the bestn you can make it. so you feel confindent.

It helps to be well prepared in your presentation, and then when you first get up to do it, simply state you are nervous. This allows you to not worry about being nervous, and it allows the class to stand with you during your presentation. Did you know almost everybody get nervous when they get up to present something to a crowd or class? Just become the actor and do your well prepared presentation, and you will do okay.

I stutter when I'm nervous too. Just stop talking, catch your breath and start your sentence over again.
I've never been laughed at, but I always thought if someone laughed, I'd go even slllllllooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwerrrrrr just to tick them off.

Practice your presentation. Memorize it if you have to. Remember, practice makes perfect. Move your hands and walk back and forth a little while you are giving your presenation.

When I had to do my presentations in college, I just pretended I was my favorite actress and I was doing a scene in a movie.

if you feel your self wanting to stutter, just take a small break and act as if you forgot what to say but continue when you gain your courage back, also since this is in front of the classroom, stare at the back wall when you look up and speak so that you wont have to face anyone and you can act as if they arent there, also, walk around in front of class (back and forth) it will set you at ease

I would try and go first, other wise you will have to be nervous through everyone elses presentations but if you just get it over with you will feel much better!! I hope this helps!!
