How should values and behavior at personal and professional levels differ, and how should they be similar?

They shouldn't be different. If someone can't take you at your word at all times, then you are not to be trusted. Values such as ethics can't be turned on and off.

Professional actions and appearance upholding the image and values of the company. If your face is in any way identifiable with the company as in the case of sales people or those working directly with customers - the same character traits should be upheld on the personal level.
Hugging at the work place is not acceptable - but those actions are at after work encounters. Someone who becomes a real sleeze after hours gives everyone the creeps.
