Garth Brooks is a very talented singer / songwriter. Even if you do not care for his work, he was earned nearly every country music award there is.
Apparently some of his lyrics have struck a chord in your emotional being. Sure, if you are a fan of hip hop, you prolly wouldn't even appreciate the tonal quality of his voice or the way he weaves stories that the majority of listeners can equate with.
Try some of Brad Paisley's music. That guy is just as talented a writer as Garth and is an extremely gifted guitar player..
