Depends on the company and the sick-time policy. In many cases yes if they have sufficient sick time available.

It doesn't matter if they are salary. It goes by what is the company policy. How many sick days or sick hours are provided per year.

Do they have the time saved and a note from the doctor? sure. Most companies want a doctors note if out sick for over 2 days.

if you're salaried that means your paycheck is the same every time....regardless of you being sick or on vacation
