I'm stuck!!! I'm making 3x5 cards for a baby shower I'm planning. I want to put a poem on them that explains what the card is for. I want to keep it simple and to the point. The card is for each guest to write some well wishes for the baby and her future or some advice for the new mommy.
Any Ideas???
Thanks

oops! I forgot... This is what I have so far...
Here is something from me to you,
a little wish or advice from the heart
for Mommy or Baby
it doesn't feel quite right...
please feel free to edit it as you will, or even start from scratch...
Again thanks..

THANKS FOR THE ANSWERS SO FAR!!
I think maybe I need to clarify....
the cards will be blank for each guest to write their own advice or wish for baby & mommy. I wanted to have the directions printed on the cards in form of a poem. I thought it would be kind of a neat idea, something I haven't seen before....
So, I really don't need a poem for mommy or baby, I need a poem for the guests as to let them know what the card is for....
AGAIN, THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS SO FAR, THEY ARE ALL PRETTY GOOD IN AND OF THEM SELVES...

Here's a little card I put together so you
Could write down wishes or advice
(Keep it short and make it nice)
For the baby...and for mommy too
or
Here's a little card I prepared for you
To write a note for baby...and mommy too
or, since "mommy" will see what you've written:
Here's advice and best wishes for both of you
With love for the baby...and his/her mommy too
hope it's what you were looking for :)

This is for the new Mom's of the world. Nothing is more important than your family. Friends come and go but, family is forever.
Never give in to their demands even, if it kills you inside. Never show them your fear even, if you are terrified. Never scream at your child. It instills intimidation and fear. Never tell them they can't do it, whatever it is. Build their character with confidence and fearlessness. Never let them eat in their bedrooms. Meals are about the time of day where everyone is home and conversation should be flying across the table as fast a a gravy boat w/ an outboard on the back. Be open for any conversation that may come across the table with the mashed potatoes. What's missing in every child's life? Their parents! If you/we brought these angels into the world, then they are our responsibility to raise them the best way there is. The best way is with the family unit. Teach, nurture and the most important thing is love them unconditionally. Love your child not their accidents and their curiosity. Clean up the messes together. They are the product of love, let them know it, endlessly, ceaselessly. [ A bit much on the ceaselessly, I think] What a sweet spirited child you will have. I tried to never raise my voice to my children. [Impossible, of course.] Important not to do it on a steady basis. Read them books that actually matter. Teach them history but, please just don't be the teacher all the time . Wrestle and act silly like everyone does. Do you know why? Because it's FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The key operitive word "Fun." Always have fun. There are enough adult moments in their short lived young life already. Let them explore and and be who they are meant to be. Not what we think they should be. Try and be a stay at home mom. Everynight is family night after homework and dinner. It's a chance for everyone to relax, have a few laughs and interact. As soon as your little one comprehends the power of a tantrum, he thinks he's got you over a stump. [So to speak.] Leave the room. He'll follow you from room to room whining and being quite annoying but, you have to show him the first time it happens it ain't going to happen again kid. Remember the shrill screams in the department stores and grocery stores. There is always one, isn't there. I can only hope that those mother's have the patience and closeness with their child to stop that in a hurry. Lot's of advice for you from a mother of one daughter and two sons. To this day we have a wonderful close relationship. The things I mentioned? I did them all. Now I wish I hadn't but, it is a little too late for that. I hope some of these has helped you with your card problem. You could do a negative line with a positive line. That might be kinda fun too. Good luck.

use one from a website. here are some neat ones, writen from the baby's perpective, since the cards are for a baby shower.:
With Tiny Hands
With tiny hands and tiny feet
I hope that very soon we'll meet.
I hope that you will stay a while
And make my mommy (and daddy) smile.
And although I can't be there today
There's something that I'd like to say,
Thank you for your gifts and wishes
And please help mommy with the dishes.
or
Bottles, booties, diapers, pins,
This is where the fun begins.
Baby _______ is on the way,
Let's celebrate before the big day!
if you're going to give an advice poem, i'd save it for a personal card to the mom, not for the invitations.

Okay,
How about this:
A little wish or some
advice from the heart,
for Baby or Mommy
and whats sure to be
a joyous start.
It's not too bad, simple and pretty much what you already had...
Enjoy the shower!

On this card, you must write,
a little poem for shower night.
a wish or advice it can be,
just for mommy and baby.
~This will let them know to write a poem about a wish or advice for the momma and baby. Direct and to the point in poem form. Is this what you mean?~
They all sound great!

I have to say one think though, That is the best poem I heard Its one of those poems that are pretty cool and just the same as a bird. Sends your thoughts to heaven, way up in the light blue sky, but im very sorry, I have to say bye!!!! LOL, so in all, your poems good.
