Don't buy into the propoganda. Democrats have just as many friends in the business world. It really depends on which industry you want to get into. If you're interested in law, media, and publishing, take the Dem. job ASAP!
If you like manufacturing, banking, and most financial services, try to line up a Republican gig! Its that simple.
Most industries like pharmaceuticals, computers, and aerospace are pretty party nuetral and donate the most to whichever party is currently in power. They still save a slice for the current minority party. The "Revolving Door" between high level politics and high level business isn't limited by party, but some of the specific industries have favorites.

It's probably less likey to be seen as negative if you move to a more intelligent part of the country. If you plan to settle in some red state county that votes 85% (R) it might hurt, but do you feel you would be into it or would you be faking it.?
If you think DNC is interesting, go for it.
I would not want to hire the opposite's intern.
