I've been a size 22 for several years and recently lost some weight.

I'm now slightly less then a size 18 and desperately need to buy new clothes. (Trendy & classic stuff)

When I was heavier I shopped at Target, Old Navy, and the Gap online.

Where can I shop now? (I'm going to hit the outlets malls this weekend)

Well done...you go girl!

The typical breakdown is size 4-6 = small, size 8 - 10 = medium, size 12-14 = large, size 16-18 = XL. "Plus" sizes start at 20 and go up. This should give you a whole bunch of options that weren't available to you before. From what I've seen, a lot of the designers stop at size 16...but some of them also "cut large" so if you see something you really like in a size 16, it might fit you.

Eddie Bauer (online at least) has regular women's sizes that go up to at least XL (some to XXL)...you can find some nice classic stuff (slacks, dresses, skirts) there.

JC Penney's Worthington line goes up to a size 18 misses (not 18w) for great professional and classic clothes. The cuts are very comfortable and I enjoy their clothes immensely for work. Also depending on how you are shaped, you may find that you are too small for some tops at stores like Lane Bryant, but their pants are still a good fit (they go down to a size 14). So don't be afraid to still go into a store that caters to plus size ladies because you may find that their jeans or bras (Lane Bryant goes down to a 36c) are cut just right. But explore the misses department, especially at larger department stores or outlets because many designers have different lines in misses fashion than they do in plus size. BTW: A pair of great fitting blue jeans is a super investment, especially with a little bit of stretch to show off your new curves. Also invest in a new bra because keeping them lifted and supported after weight loss helps your figure look better. Also, if you have tunic tops from when you were a bit bigger, just add a new belt to them and wear them with your new jeans to strech your budget while still looking fresh. And don't forget accessiroes. They can make a basic outfit look fun and fit all sizes. Congrats on your weight loss! :)
