I only have a home phone. I refuse to have a cell phone and here is why. Cell phones are for kids that do not want their parents listening to their conversations, monitoring them, knowing who they are talking too, and restricting them from the phone. Having a home phone in your name is a symbol of being an adult. Also, remember, cell phones are not listed in a phone book. So if someone wants to get a hold of you but does not know your number, they can look it up. I know some people do not want to be listed in the phone book. That's understandable. The way I look at it is that people can see that I have a home address and a home I own in the phone book. So Ha to them.

Yes. I live in an apartment, I'm 21. The only reason I have a home phone is for my DSL line. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to get one. I never use it since I just use my cell phone.
The way I see it, if it's not necessary, why bother with it?

Yes, since I'm one of those people who doesn't drive, eat , read the paper, and put on makeup( or shave) while dangerously using a cell phone. My house phone will still work during a power outage, will your cell or computer?

Does your state has a no call list for tele marketing? If they do call you Attorney General's office and ask about how to get on it. If not cancel home phone and get him cell at least you can keep track of him.

LMAO@telling telemarketers to leave you alone!!! do you think you are special or something? What makes you think that YOU can tell a telemarketer to leave you alone and they will.. if they don't do it for ANYONE else..LOL...
sure.. get him a phone.. he is old enough, I think, and responsible enough. Espcially with all of the shared minute rate plans around... you'll be fine...14yr olds are much more mature nowadays..

I have one , but like you The only one that call is telemarketing , so I keep the ringer on off.
I only use it for my computer and to buzz my visitors in at the front gate , if it wasn't for the security gate I won't even have one.
most of us can do with out it now days.

Yeah we still have ours. And between the two of us, have 3 cells. He has 2, I have 1. I know many people who have gotten rid of their home phone, but it wouldn't work for me.
