When you decide to judge someone who is gay, what goes through your mind and makes you decide that you have a right to do that? And before you do, do you take the time to look at your own life first?

I put the question here because there are ALOT of straight people that come read questions and leave ugly answers, I wanted them to read mine and see what they have to say.

Everyone judges people. It is human nature to make inferences from the information we already have. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone does it. Even gay people do it. It is a natural defense for humans to make broad generalizations for certain things. This has allowed for our survival.
However, in modern times, we must address these events differently. What marks someone from being prejudice from unbiased is not what thoughts they are having, it is what actions they make based on those thoughts.
It's not wrong for straight people to think gay people are weird. The behavior that gay people show (attraction to the same sex) is different and thus "weird" to some straight people. This goes both ways. I can no more understand how a straight guy is attracted to a women than he can understand how I am attracted to a guy. However, this does not give him the right to yell that this "weirdness" wrong.
Personally, when I see a bigoted person bash gay people I feel a little bit sorry for them. It is likely that they were brought up that way or that they have serious self doubt about their own sexuality. They cannot see beyond their generalizations to the actual people behind the labels. As a society, all we can do is encourage tolerance instead of prejudice.

I don't judge anyone for being gay.
I judge people from the behavior they display and how they treat me as an individual.
Besides, if you never ever discriminated yourself you would be left unable to pick whether you want salt or pepper or both on your dinner. You would starve to death from extreme liberal indecision.
And what the other answerer said...You are being judgmental toward those that have the nerve to disagree with you.

gay people are very nice and they're just like hetrosexuals!
only they like people of the same sex which isn't wrong @ all!
:DD
Some people are just ignorant and narrowminded
It's sad to see some of the things people say about gays on here and obviously they have never tried to talk to gay person before.
Also what 's up with all these extreme Christians not believing that you are born gay?!
In a pefect world we would all be one, gay, straight, black white, male , female , everyone getting along and accepting each other!

It is human to judge what you think is wrong. I don't see the big deal either. It is not like I am making fun of gays,or cussing them out, or beating them to death. All I am saying is that I think it is wrong. That's it. There no hate in thinking that a persons actions are wrong.

I don't judge gay people or anyone really, just myself which is really bad. I wouldn't worry about what other people think, everyone has an opinion, that is their choice... It is your choice if you want to listen to it!
