Okay; My sister has had her waterbed for like 7 years, and shes sick of it now ["it is SO uncomfortable"] so its now my job to drain it.
We've lost the directions, and I know it involves a hose.

Ive hooked the hose on, and ive tried pushing on the bed, sucking the end of the hose untill water came out, and that works for like 10 seconds then stops.

How do I drain it?

The flow probably stops because there is not enough drop in the hose to continue the flow. If you can drain it out of the window, that will be better than trying to drain it into a small bucket that you have to keep emptying or into the tub. The more hose you have that is lower than the level of where it is attached to the waterbed, the better it will drain. Just don't drain it immediately up against the house - drain it at least 10 feet from the house.

You also need to have a little bit of air in the waterbed mattress in order to keep the water pushing out and keep a vacuum from forming. You know how you have to vent something in order for the liquid to flow? It's the same thing with the waterbed.

Are you using a fill/drain kit made for waterbeds? You are probably getting airlock if not. I have drained my bed 3 or 4 times using the kit and had no problems.

well, simple physics actually, there has to be a pressure relief look for a cap somewhere on top. siphon only work for a little while because the back pressure was to strong. Also keep it simple is anything cloging the hose. Or get your sister to hop the bed while draining with the hose.

try to blow air into the hose first then suck out the water... try a shorter water hose and flop it out the window.. it takes a long time to drain a waterbed..
