Pretty much. Some of the same players too - Cheney and Rumsfield were Vietnam backers back in the day. Guess they like to repeat their mistakes......with other peoples lives.

We won the war in Iraq, people just need to use logic to think why would we still be there. Trust me some high level government officials do nothing but ponder that question, the truth is we removed an evil evil man from power and it needed to be done (evil prevails when good men do nothing) now we are at a position where we are condemned both for staying or leaving, Vietnam is much different then Iraq. Vietnam was one Battle of many between fascism communist and free people of the world (democracies particularly) we lost the the battle of Vietnam, how ever we won the war. and in 300 years that is how it will be looked at.

I think that winning in Iraq is very likely. And i would like to know what would be so bad about loosing. the only reason that the liberals want to get out now is because they are afraid that we will actually win the awr and bush will look good.

We can still win Iraq, but we need a better plan. We achieved several of the main objectives that the government set out, but we must withdraw slowly if we are to win.

I'm a vet and am still mad at the politicians that made us lose. Now some one has the nerve to kill our children and think I and the rest of the Vietnam vets aren't getting a little fed up I think it's time the killers of my age went and kicked some righteous butt.

We can't win in Iraq. The minute we invaded we lost. Now we are just loosing tons of American lives. I support our troops and all, but I hate Bush. We need to get him out of office!

Actually,
we could win the war if we wanted to, we just need to secure borders and quell the 85% of violence occuring in Iraq which is centered in the capital. We have acheieved 8 of our goals for the war and we have 8 to go. It is going to be a long road, but i am willing to wait.

No, it's much more likely.

If the congress stops trying to tie the troops hands (like they did in vietnam), then we can win. The problem with both wars is that we're being underminde by our own people. The Demoncrats in the house and senate have done nothing but try to prevent victory.

Iraq and Vietnam are two completely different wars. There really is no comparison.
