I had a noise when taking off on my K4 Gsxr 600, found out it was the rear wheel bearing, cost me £39. Stick it on the padock stands check that the wheel rotates smoothly and have a listen for any grinding noises.

As the others have said check the chain condition/tension, check that the teeth on the sprockets are ok and have not had the edge taken off them. Check that the brakes are free and not sticking.

Good luck!!

Without hearing the noise, I cannot give you a definitive answer.
Check the chain.
Adjust it if necessary.
Replace it and both sprockets if there is any sign of ware.
Chain - tight & loose sections (stretched in spots).
Sprockets - hooked teeth.
If you can pull the chain off the rear sprocket (at the most rear part of the sprocket), more than 1/2 the height of a sprocket tooth, the chain should be changed (along with both sprockets).
Might need a valve adjustment.

Don't worry about the valves, replace the chain, and both sprockets and the noise will go away, get a good O Ring chain too.

Does it come from the front or the rear?
