I smiled wryly when I read Obama... I'd love to pin it on him as I am so not a fan of his, but it is a steady decline over the years. Personally, my take on it is drugs, video games and lack of church attendance. I think the good morale character of our country has been diminished and that we shall only get better when people regain their faith in God and learn the teachings of the bible. For example, the story of Jonah and the Whale is truly about avoiding responsibility and doing what you know is right. How many people do the right thing in this world? Not many sadly. Drugs are another issue. In my lifetime (I'm 55) drug use has increased so much. I smoked my share of pot when I was a kid and I have to admit I liked it. But, what it did was make me complacent. I didn't care about certain things. When I put a stop to that in my life, I was able to have desire and motivation to be somebody and work at things. Otherwise, sitting at home and listening to music or watching TV was good enough for me. Being silly and "partying" with friends was my focus. I'm now a responsible person and I don't think I could be if I did any kind of drug thing, truly. TV and video games have taken over our youth. Let's not go out in the world and do anything, but let's sit at home and play X-Box or watch TV. I think kids and people in general are mesmerized by this and I like the old phrase they call the "boob tube". So, go ahead and blame this one or that one as far as politicians are concerned, but they are only a scape goat in a society that is truly diminished. If we could only reach out to kids when they turn about 9 or 10 and truly keep society from spoiling them and lead them towards being good people who hold good jobs and reach out to others, we could save this great nation. Do I have a plan? No, but I'm thinking at least.

Overt rejection of God and the gospel in favor of Humanism, New Age Ideology and Political Correctness among other evils.
By the way- the word is HELL not hades. It's okay to say Hell! Some people would not understand the Greek word.
EDIT: I SEE BY THE THUMBS DOWN THAT PEOPLE WILL CHOOSE TO BE IGNORANT NO MATTER HOW MUCH TRUTH THEY HAVE ALREADY HEARD.

American Foreign policy by it's sheer design has led us to the point where we stand now... The only thing that may save American Democracy is civil disobedience or a full Revolution in the streets. The corporations and the military bought the US government.

As compared to what? The days of rigid sex gender roles? The days of hushed up child and domestic abuse? The days of blatant discrimination?
From my point of view, it's getting better every day.
