Right on magic!! I also think that they can sense movements on the floor. Vibrations carry through all kinds of mediums and in water it would pass through with ease. I am under the impression they can sense movements and vibrations from a long distance as the energy in moving across the floor transmits faster then you get there, they can sense someone or something is approaching and anticipate this. If this cooincides with the times you feed them, they become accustomed to food being in the water shortly after sensing movements.

Two reasons:
1. It thinks that you are going to feed it.
2. It's a fish. It has a boring life. You are the excitement of the day!
I'm being a little goofy, but that's basically the truth. It may also wonder if you're a predator coming into its space, but most likely it's the first two.

As everyone has pointed out. They associate you with food. The only time food comes is when you are around. How strage? They eventually realize this and everytime you come around they just get excited becasue there is a possibility that they may get fed.

For food. Think about it, if you swam around all day with nothing to do and you seen the person that feeds you walk up...wouldn't you get excited too? lol

it depends on the fish if it is a cichlid it gets attracted to u if it is tetra or a goldfish it wants food so feed it more

my fish do the same thing, they recognize you as the bringer of food and get exicited cuz they think youre about to feed them, its nice cuz mine dont do that with anyone else, i would feed them tiny pinches of food every few times you walk by so the fish keep doing it!!! it makes me feel special!!!

it propley thinks u are the best human ever just like my cat when anyone comes around she hisses and slaps them when I come around she pures and rubes against my leg
i feed it alot thats why and propley same with ur fish u propley feed it alot
