Stock Market?

Question

I was just watching CNN and they did I story on the stock Market.. I was very Intrigued....Why were all the men Screamming and throwing funny little hand signals? Where were the WOMEN?? Why does it look so unorganized. Explain it to me please..

That's just the way the market has been run since the beginning. They are placing bids - trading stocks - buying ans selling shares. The market has its own culture.

God only knows how it works. They've placed all my orders.

I think the aggressive environment is generally better suited for men. Women are welcomed too. But honestly, as a woman - some of their jokes are pathetic and only another guy would get it.

Ironically, it's been said women are better long term investors overall.

The hand signals are bids to either purchase or sell stocks. It is an auction, the auction closes when someone takes a bid someone else is offering. If you want the bid, but are not seen, then someone else will take it.

It is extremely organized, it just looks unorganized. The appearance of disorganization comes from the fact that orders arrive whenever it suits customers to place them. No one knows when or how much is coming. If you do not take the opportunities that are present, they may not come in the future. Remember, it is nothing for hundreds of billions of dollars to change hands daily. When you add in the bond and commodities and futures markets, trillions are traded that way every day, and that is just in the US. The appearance of disorganization is just that, appearance. That disorder, created by customers, sits on top of one of the best systems of exchange in the world.

Please forgive me but I don't know a lot about the stock market. I think that the men are screaming and using hand signals to tell their people to either buy or sell certain stocks ect. and it is so noisy that they have to raise their voice to be heard.I can't explain why that there are not any women there except to assume that that occupation is mainly pursued by men.

They signal whether they buy or sell and at what price. There are some women broker, but it's hard to see them between so many men.
